origins can be traced back to the Middle Ages. 17th century texts suggest that the first vines were planted in 1660, when it was known simply as Château Gazin. It is also recognized as one of the oldest estates in the commune.
The wines have gained critical acclaim since the Bonnie family took over in 2006; the estate has been increasing in quality each year thanks to the team at Malartic-Lagraviire, Classified growth of Graves.
An exceptional terroir, sustainable farming and High Environmental Value certifications, manual care, some organic and biodynamic plots, and gravity-operated winery: high standards at every level.
The wines have a superb capacity to age; the 2005 (the first Bonnie vintage) was reviewed again by Parker in June 2015 and awarded 93/100!
Pampered like a classified growth, this family property lies in the heart of Pessac-Léognan.Maturing the making of a great wine every vintage presents a new challenge to create high quality wines that will improve with age. Tending the vines Sustainable Development from beginning, the Bonnie family has placed particular importance on the vineyard environment and the way that it is maintained.
The estate was then bought in 1850 by Madame Arnaud Ricard, who added the name Malartic to that of Lagravière as a tribute to the former owners.
Having enjoyed an excellent reputation from the beginning of the nineteenth century, Château Malartic-Lagravière was one of only six properties in Bordeaux to enter the 1953 Graves classification for both its red and white wines.
JEAN-LOUIS TROCARD

The Trocard family is probably the oldest vineyard family in the Bordeaux area and from the right bank, with 15 generations of winemakers. They found old parchments dated 1620 testify that Jean-Louis Trocard ancestors had vines. The Trocard family-owned vineyards expanded with Jean Trocard, who showed his talents of wine maker in 1945, after the Second World War.
In 1976, Jean-Louis took over from his father on the estate, joined by his wife Elizabeth to develop commercial field.
In 2002, Benoit Trocard, Jean-Louis oldest son, is back on the estate after finishing his studies. Now Jean-Louis Trocard and his son, perpetuate the family know-how over 14 Estates located in 6 various appellations on a 100ha area.
Together, they strive to keep working as their ancestors, with the same approach and same passion preserving traditional methods.

The Trocard family has a long tradition as wine growers since the XVIth century.
Old parchments dated 1628 testify that Jean-Louis Trocard ancestors had vineyards.

  • The Renard family had vines located in the "Petit Faurie" area, district of Saint-Emilion.
At the end of the XVIIIth century, a branch of the Renard family moved to Artigues de Lussac, place where the Trocard Vineyards are presently located. In the course of the XIXth century, The Trocard family also settled in Artigues de Lussac and lived there close to the Renard family.
